Water Rising Right Now? Call and We Move

Water doesn't wait. Neither do we.

When it's pouring through the ceiling or across the kitchen floor, every minute counts. Call us first, and we'll talk you through stopping the worst of it while a van heads your way.

Call now, before it spreads further.

You'll speak to a licensed plumber, not an answering machine. Dial (02) 9062 4032, and if you can reach it safely, turn off the water at the meter while we're talking.

Act Now or Wait for Morning? What Counts

Some faults genuinely cannot wait for daylight. Others can. This is the line we draw when the phone goes at 2am.

Ring us now

Water nobody can shut off, waste rising back through a fixture, or a gas smell indoors. Anything spreading through the building or putting someone's health at risk goes to the top of the list.

Book it for today

A weeping tank, a pan that keeps refilling and never clears, a drain crawling since the last rain. Nothing is galloping yet, but it will if the night goes badly.

Fair to leave until morning

One dripping tap, a slightly slow shower waste, a mixer that squeaks. Annoying, worth fixing, not worth the small hours.

Why Wahroonga Homes Ring Us After Hours

Wahroonga sits on a ridge about 202 metres up, and that height decides how its plumbing fails. Rain does not soak away here.

It runs, fast, off big roofs and long driveways into drainage sized for smaller houses.

The result is the callout we get most in a summer downpour. Intense rain on the ridge overwhelms older stormwater and surcharges gully traps on the sloping blocks, so water that should be heading downhill comes back up at the lowest point instead.

The housing stock does the rest. Character here peaked in the 1920s and 1930s, and the Federation and Arts and Crafts houses along Water Street and Burns Road still sit on large garden blocks with original drainage under the lawn.

Under that lawn is shale and rock, which is exactly the ground that does not forgive an old clay joint. What we're actually called to on those blocks:

  • Gully traps surcharging during storms on gully-facing land, usually the ones tucked below the back terrace
  • Ageing clay sewer and stormwater lines cracking at the joints and taking in roots from the canopy that shades every street around Wahroonga Park
  • Decades-old supply and drainage lines rupturing under ground movement, so the camera comes out before the shovel
  • Big paved areas dumping more water into a stormwater run than it was ever built to carry

If a downpour is already backing water up against your house, ring (02) 9062 4032 and start with the blocked drains page while you wait.

Home Turf: Wahroonga and Five Suburbs Around It

Wahroonga is home turf, and our regular run takes in the neighbouring suburbs across Ku-ring-gai Council and just beyond it. Same response, same way of pricing it, whichever of these you're ringing from.

We're out this way most weeks, so an after-hours call rarely means a long wait.

Why Locals Choose Us When It Matters Most

Wahroonga runs on long-held, owner-occupied family homes, and owners here know their house properly. That shapes how we work: explain the fault, quote it, fix it, leave.

  • Lifetime Labour Warranty. Guaranteed for life: we come back. No questions. No cost.
  • A real plumber answers. Any hour you call, a licensed plumber picks up and starts helping.
  • Fixed before we start. You approve one written price before any work begins. It never grows.
  • $0 Call Out Fee. No fee for coming out. Day or night, weekend or public holiday.
  • Lic #275278C. Licensed and insured, so the trade behind the promise is checkable.

Our simple process

Our Process: Four Steps, No Drama

From the first ring to the last test, the callout runs the same way every time. Here's the whole of it.

  1. 01

    Step one

A plumber answers, not a machine. Day or night, you're talking to someone licensed who can triage the emergency and get a van moving straight away.

  2. 02

    Step two

Stopping the damage comes first. The moment we arrive we isolate the water or gas, so nothing gets worse while we work out the fix.

  3. 03

    Step three

You get a fixed price before any work begins. What it takes, what it costs, agreed on the spot. Nothing starts until you say go.

  4. 04

    Step four

Then we fix it and prove it. Repair done properly, everything tested under pressure, and the job left verified safe before we drive off. Stocked vans mean most urgent repairs finish on that first trip, with no second appointment to chase.

The Other Thing About Wahroonga's Plumbing

Three building waves left three sets of pipes here, and knowing yours tells us where to look first. Pre-war houses, the 1960s to 1980s brick wave and the newer apartment infill each fail in their own way.

The oldest ones carry original vitrified clay drainage. It cracks at the joints, roots find the crack, and the line silts up behind the roots until the day it stops completely.

The renovated wet areas inside those same houses bring the opposite problem. High-end renovations along streets like Coonanbarra Road and Fox Valley Road put braided flexi hoses under every vanity, and a flexi that lets go floods a room before anyone notices.

Then there's winter. Cool nights on the ridge push hot water systems hard, and a tank already past its service life tends to pick the coldest morning to quit.

That's our most common July callout. The hot water repairs page covers what happens next.

One Fixed Price, Agreed Before We Start

Money questions, answered up front. You pay nothing for the callout, and nothing until you've approved a fixed quote for the repair.

Payment happens once the job is done and verified, settled on the spot by card or by invoice where arranged. No deposits on standard emergency repairs, no games with the paperwork.

The figure you approved is the figure on the receipt. That's the entire system.

No after-hours loading, no hourly meter ticking while we work. A 2am job is priced the same way a Tuesday morning one is.

Good questions, straight answers

Your Questions, Answered Straight

These six come up on the phone more than anything else. For the rest, head to the FAQ page.

My hot water unit is leaking. Do I switch it off?

Switch it off, yes. Shut the isolation valve on its cold feed, then cut power to the unit or close its gas tap. The water leaving a failing tank is scalding, so keep everyone back from the puddle and ring us.

Who picks up when I ring after hours?

A licensed plumber does. No recorded menu, no queue at 3am. You get triage advice on that first call, and a van is already heading over before you hang up.

Do you take strata and rental emergencies?

We do. Wahroonga's unit blocks near the station sit alongside its houses, and we attend both. Once the quote is approved we work through the owner, the agent or the strata manager on sign-off.

Is a blocked sewer my problem or Sydney Water's?

Everything from your boundary in belongs to you, and that is where most blockages sit on the older clay lines under Wahroonga gardens. Past the boundary it becomes Sydney Water's main.

Do you charge a call-out fee in Wahroonga?

No. It's a $0 Call Out Fee whatever the hour, weekend or public holiday. You then approve one fixed price for the repair before a tool leaves the van.

Are your plumbers licensed and insured?

Yes, and it's checkable. We hold NSW Plumbing Licence #275278C and carry full insurance. Whoever knocks on your door that night is working under it.
